A US nonprofit runs two web platforms, one of them a tablet app for residents of correctional facilities that is still in development. Nerdify engineers work alongside its developers on both, and moved them from Laravel 10 to Laravel 12. Name withheld by agreement.

Residents use the tablet app inside correctional facilities, where they should not have to type a username and password each time. Authentication through the tablet provider is still being built. The Bible module is already live and getting good feedback: it is served from the YouVersion API, with a cache that preloads the previous and next chapter. Nerdify engineers work alongside the nonprofit’s developers on the backend, including feature flags and error monitoring, and the work ships through staging, QA and automated GitHub checks.
