Privacy policy

What the site collects, why, and who else handles it.

This policy explains what personal data Nerdify collects through getnerdify.com, what we use it for, and who else handles it. Nerdify is an engineering team and training school in Managua, Nicaragua.

What we collect

Course sign-ups

When you sign up for a course, a workshop or a program, we collect your name, email, WhatsApp number, the course and date you chose, and anything you add in the optional fields. You also confirm that we may write to you by WhatsApp or email to confirm your spot.

We store the sign-up in our database and send it by email to training@getnerdify.com, so we can confirm your spot and send you the deposit steps.

Questions to the site assistant

When you ask the site assistant a question, we send the question, the page you are on, the language and the course you are viewing to OpenAI, which writes the answer. We store the conversation.

Each question is also recorded in our activity log together with your IP address and your browser’s user agent, so we can review answers and stop abuse.

Booking a call

The booking calendar is provided by Cal.com. The name, email and notes you enter to book a call go to Cal.com and to us. The Cal.com script loads on every page so the calendar opens quickly.

Email and WhatsApp

If you write to us by email or WhatsApp, we receive what you send, your email address or phone number, and your name as you give it. WhatsApp messages are also handled by WhatsApp under its own terms.

Data collected automatically

Session data: each visit gets a session, stored in our database with your IP address, your browser’s user agent and the time of your last request.
Analytics: PostHog records the pages you visit and how you use them, with your browser, device and approximate location. It does not know who you are unless you tell us.
Error monitoring: when something breaks, and for a sample of page loads, Sentry receives technical details such as the page address, your browser and the error.
Maps: the map on the events page loads its tiles from OpenFreeMap, so OpenFreeMap receives your IP address.

What we use it for

To answer your questions and hold the calls you book.
To confirm course spots, send deposit steps and run the courses.
To see which pages work and fix what breaks.
To keep the site and its forms safe from abuse.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who else handles it

We share data only with the services that run parts of the site for us:

Railway, which hosts the site and its database.
OpenAI, which writes the site assistant’s answers.
Cal.com, which runs the booking calendar.
PostHog, for analytics.
Sentry, for error monitoring.
OpenFreeMap, for the map tiles.
Our email provider, which delivers course sign-ups to our inbox.

Some of these services are outside Nicaragua, mostly in the United States. Each one handles data under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

Sessions expire two hours after your last request. We keep course sign-ups, assistant conversations and the activity log for as long as we need them for the purposes above, and delete them when you ask us to.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@getnerdify.com and we will answer from there.

Changes to this policy

When the site changes what it collects, we update this page and the date at the top.
